Ferry/Barge
History/Background:
This vessel was built as an ice-class ferry for one of the provincial
governments of Canada. She was extremely well maintained as she provided an
essential ferry service for the Government. She operated until 1994 and was sold
and converted to a diving instruction school and underwent considerable
modification and overhaul in 1995 to accommodation the conversion, and this
included drydocking to remove propellers and shafts and blank off all sea
chests. Vessel was then completely re-wired and new generator installed. The
vessel could be converted back to a car/passenger ferry with installation of new
engines and shafts, or can be used 'as is' for marine construction work, or as a
barge (open or enclosed).
Optional Gear: Car ramp for bow, built new in 1996, complete with
drawings. Covers for moon pool on stern.
Hydraulic Power: 10 gpm @ 3,000 psi.
